Harvest News- April 2005.

Congratulations Birdman!

“PVC and aluminium won out over tulle and cardboard as the Birdman Rally splashed and crashed its way through the Moomba Waterfest yesterday… Michael Paul fared better in MonoPlane, gliding 10 metres to claim the $5000 prize for first place. With a bottle of mouthwash tucked into his wetsuit, Paul described his first Birdman attempt 12 years ago. "I got 11 metres. The second time I broke my collarbone and had to put my friend in the plane to fly. I've been waiting for 12 years to go again," he said.” (The Age- Mon 14th March, 2005). Congratulations to Michael at Trico Products for a spectacular birdman effort!

Fishing Comp Run Down

The first day of fishing at the Nelson Comp saw three people on the boat (normally only two per boat) making casting a careful art! Barge’s Bream total was 1.5kgs (2 fish) for the weekend finishing 12th out of the boaters with a Personal Best sized fish caught the day after the Comp- wouldn’t you know it! Wayne from Specialised Welding Products had a ripper weekend… Catching his first Bream ever at the comp and also landing the biggest fish (1.4kgs) of the comp and $500 for his effort! Also finishing 8th out of the non-boaters.

The Gippsland Comp was also a success, although it was a very
windy weekend to be on the Tambo/Nicholson Rivers. Barge had
no fish on the first day and then ended up seventh in the
non-boaters after a very nice 1kg Bream. Wayne from SWP ended
up 8th (non-boaters) with a respectable 980g fish. Both walked
away with some nice prizes and are now looking forward to going interstate for their next comp.

Snakes Alive @ Plastool International!
A friendly red bellied black snake decided to visit Plastool International and wish them a Happy Easter- Not quite the Easter bunny, but perhaps he was hoping to catch the bunny at work!

Good Luck to Hydro Australia
We wish everyone at Hydro all the best with their move to bigger and better premises in Morwell.

Staff News

Kevin & Julie- managed to get out for a sail on one of those gorgeous autumn weekends…It’s been a long time between sails with all the renovating lately!!

Nicole- Is settling in well, and has been out to quite a few customers. Her two boys were lucky enough to Tag along with mum when they had a day off school!

Kelly- one of the horses has been back and forth from the vet, with x-rays and nerve blocks and is now waiting on a specialist appointment. Hopefully the specialist will find the problem.

Riddle

The one who makes it doesn’t need it,

The one who buys it doesn’t keep it,

The one that sells it doesn’t use it,

The one that’s using it never knows it’s being used,

What am I?

Answer: A Coffin.
